NFRD “Eid Al Adha Initiative”- Al Bayrouni Cancer Hospital and The Comprehensive Specialized Clinics Center
In celebration of Eid Al Adha, a group of NFRD volunteers created Eid Al Adha Initiative to draw a smile on the faces of children with cancer at Al Bayrouni Cancer Hospital and children with diabetes and thalassemia at The Comprehensive Specialized Clinics Center.
The initiative included a wide range of activities designed to be fun, enjoyable, and engaging for all of the children.
” Spending time in a hospital can be very stressful for children especially since they are away from their families and friends and unable to enjoy the festivities of the Eid. This is how we came up with the idea of the initiative,” one of the volunteers said.
” I am staying in the hospital together with my mother, while my father and siblings are staying in Aleppo. Although it was really hard for me not to be able to spend the Eid with my brothers and sisters, I am glad that I was able to have fun with my hospital mates whom I consider my second family,” one of the children said.
