Adult Literacy Beneficiaries Story Writing Competition

NFRD- Daam ( Support) Project

Nour WGSS in Al Hussainie held a story writing competition for the Adult Literacy Program beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries were divided into small groups and were asked to write simple short stories using key words. The participants were so proud to share their accomplishments and see how much they had  learned.
In the end of the event, an honoring ceremony was held for all the participants, during of which  prizes were given to the winning group and literacy certificates were awarded to  successful beneficiaries.
Walaa Hussain, Nour WGSS manager, said, “We are obliged to  help solve the problem of illiteracy and  encourage women to join such courses. It is our responsibility to empower women in our community and enable them to fight the difficult circumstances they encounter everyday. In order to achieve this goal, Nour created a safe space for them to practice their right for education.”
It is worth mentioning that Nour WGSS in Al Hussainieh, funded by the UNFPA, holds awareness sessions and courses for women to encourage them to pursue success and productivity.
