On July 7th, 2018, Nour Foundation for Relief and Development’s all-women music band, Banafsaj, held a concert entitled “The Story of Music” at Al Sweida Cultural Center.
The event started with a welcoming speech by Ayham Hamada, the Chairman of the Board of Directors about the foundation, its mission statement, goals, and projects in Syria. He then honored some members of the audience, including the manager of the cultural center, Syria Trust for Development team, family planning team, and some of Nour Foundation’s team in Al Sweida.
This was followed by a short clip about the band. After that, Banafsaj performed many songs from different genres and concluded their concert with Bala Wala Shi, with the participation of Mohammad Al Otaibi.

Banafsaj was founded in 2017 by the personal effort and cooperation of 30 women who are addicted to music. The band has been fully supported by Nour Foundation since its first performance in 2017

Rahaf Al Sayed, band instructor, said, ” Although the band is fairly new, it has managed to do a great job. We know that we need to work harder on developing the band, that is why we are putting our heart and soul into our music.”
