A Thank-You Event in Honor of the Volunteers of Nour Foundation for Relief and Development in Sednaya

Nour Foundation for Relief and Development held a special ‘thank you’ event in honor of its volunteers in all its centers in Damascus, Damascus Countryside, and Sweida to celebrate their hard work and achievement.

The event ,which was held in Sednaya, was attended by more than 450 volunteers from all Nour Foundation centers in Sehnaya, Al Zahira, Al hussainieh, Jairoud, Al tal, and Qudsaya in addition to the Board of Directors, and a number of partners including Ms. Majd Niazi President of Syrian National Party (Souria Al Watan) , Ms. Berwin Ibrahim President of Youth for Change (Al Shabab and Al Ta3’yeer), representatives of the Martyr Ahmad Qadirof Organization, and representatives of Peace Organization ( Al Salam). The event started with a visit to the Lady of Sednaya Monastery.

The Volunteers Officer, Mustafa Abou Al Jadayel, started the event by introducing Nour’s staff, guests, centers, and services provided in each center. Then, Mohammad Jalbout, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yara Touma, Vice-Chairman, Ayham Hamada, Executive Manager gave opening speeches for the event.
“Today is very important since it is the first time Nour Foundation’s volunteers meet each other since the establishment of the foundation 4 years ago. This event in and of itself helps promote the concept of volunteerism.” The Volunteers Officer, Mustafa Abou Al Jadayel, said, ” This event helps shed light on the true value of volunteering. It is the hard work of the volunteers that keep Nour Foundation fully functioning. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the foundation. They are the cornerstone from which the future of our work will quickly evolve into building and developing our society”.

“Nour has been the catalyst for everything I have accomplished over the past few years. That is why we should embrace and be living examples of the values Nour has empowered us to discover whether during this event or any other event.” Souryana, a volunteer from Al Sweida team.

“Through our work, we have come in contact with cases from real life. The event was a chance to unwind and de-stress. It gave us a deep sense of meaning and value in relation to the foundation. We felt greatly appreciated.” Mirna Mahfouz, a volunteer at Nour Center for Women in Al Zahira said.
